Crusades was a 1995 historical documentary series presented by former Monty Python member Terry Jones. It looks at The Crusades and included elements of black comedy. It starts in 1096 with Pope Urbans call to arms the launching of the pilgrims crusade followed by the 1st crusade.
In the 2nd episode, he follows the 1st crusade as it battles its way up to the capture of Jerusalem. In the third episode, the sarasins fight back and take back Jerusalem afyer the failure of the 2nd crusade. In the final episode, Jones tells the story of the 3rd crusade led by Richard the Lion Heart and his struggle against Saladin. Then the failure of the 4th crusade which ended with the sacking of Constantinople...a Christian city!.
